A late 19th century Indian octagonal carved hardwood table with unusual copper inset top - ADDITIONAL IMAGES CAN BE VIEWED BELOW:
The top consists of a central pierced copper panel with symbolic images of snakes, vine leaves and mythological creatures inset into the table top, the outer wooden top profusely carved with peacocks and foliate decoration.
This leads down to an octagonal base consisting of superbly carved peacock and foliate decoration.
The table top can be removed from the base and the base can be folded for easy storage and transportation.
The peacock is the national bird of India and is a symbol of grace, joy, beauty and love.
This table is in very good condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
