Kouloufi Coffee Table

Mid-20th Century Kouloufi Coffee Table

An elegant round coffee table designed by Belgian designer Kouloufi, dating from circa 1970.The sculptural frame is formed from three graceful polished brass arches, joined at the centre by a connecting bracket. The substantial original glass top rests on the frame and retains its original brass support bolts. The table remains in good vintage condition, displaying age-related patina and oxidation to the brass frame. The original heavy glass top has some scratches and scuffs consistent with its age and use.

A distinctive example of 1970s Belgian design, combining a sculptural brass base with a simple, refined glass top.

Kouloufi is a mid-20th-century Belgian designer best known for sculptural, high-end modernist and post-modern furniture pieces featuring materials like glass, polished brass, bronze, and chrome.

Original Kouloufi pieces are considered collectible mid-century and vintage design objects, frequently traded through European design galleries
