About this item
A glorious Edwardian, Sheraton Revival setee.
Fully and traditionally restored with a squab cushion in a lampas by Colony fabrics. The seat has been entirely recaned by hand.
Weeks were spent re-caning the seat and restoring the woodwork; turning replacement mahogany pieces to restore this magnificent piece to its former glory. The wood has been revived and freshly French poished.
The original horsehair squab cushion has been cleaned and re-covered in cotton wadding and FR cambric. The cushion was then hand-buttoned, on both sides, with matching Colony fabric buttons.
“Colony specialises in lampas, velvets, brocades and silk fabrics. The Colony lampases bring French and Italian interior decorative traditions to new life with modern colours that add a historical aesthetic to the 21st century home. The Colony fabrics pay attention to originality of style, attention in colour hue and quality of materials that results from extensive research in archives to produce refined and elegant fabrics with patterns inspired by French, Venetian, Piedmontese and oriental interior styles.”
