Ash & elm lowback Windsor armchair, the arched back with honeysuckle splat, the hooped bow with fine turned arm supports and well figured elm seat over ring turned baluster turned legs united by a crinoline stretcher.
Impressed makers mark NICHOLSON OF ROCKLEY. George Nicholson (fl. 1831-1841) took over the Rockley workshop in Nottinghamshire started by William Wheatland around 1830. This example of good colour and patination. English, circa 1840
