About this item
17th century panelled oak coffer of good colour and patination. The top having two oak boards and moulded edge, opening, on its original wire hinges, to an interior with till box, the rising lid of which supports the coffer lid when open. The front rail, with original iron lock, is flanked by a carved frieze with scroll and C scroll detail. The stiles and muntins are chip carved and flank the three raised rectangular panels with moulded edges. To the ends a pair of flat panels with arched carved top rails. Supplied with a key.
