This is a rare Anglo Saxon silver Sceatta, metal detector find from Dorset and recorded with the PAS DOR-E117FE and with the Corpus of Early Medieval Coin Finds (EMC) reference number 2023.0302.
ANGLO-SAXON, Primary Sceattas. Circa 710. AR Sceatt. Aethiliraed Series (E), type 105. Mint in east Kent. 'Porcupine' right; wavy line below / AThILI/RAD (in Runic) in two lines around central line; all within double pelleted border. Abramson 92.10; MEC 8 Series AEÐ; North 155; SCBC 780. a nice excavated example of this iconic runic type.
