Vintage Cobalt Blue Savoy Vase 1992 by the Finnish glass maker Iittala
Designer - Alvar Aalto (1898 – 1976) revered Finnish architect and designer.
Designed by the Finnish designer Alvar Aalto and his wife Aino who created the vase together to celebrate the opening of the Helsinki Savoy restaurant as part of their brief to create a range of custom furniture and fittings in 1936.
This mould blown cobalt blue Savoy glass vase in the small size is etched signed ‘Alvar Aalto 1992’ The design lives on and this Savoy was made approximately 16 years after Aalto’s passing.
