A pair of 1930s Art Deco candlesticks in rich amber glass, made with the long fluted lines and stepped geometry that defined much of the period’s pressed glass.
They are unmarked, so the maker remains open, but the closest parallels are found in Continental European glass, particularly the 1930s Luxval range made by Val Saint Lambert.
The deep amber colour changes from honey to dark cognac through the thicker sections of glass, which is exactly where this type of period pressed glass comes into its own.
