    About this item

    A beautiful pair of late 19th century glass salts, in the form of baskets. They are made of pressed purple slag glass, also known as malachite glass. The baskets have embossed floral and foliate details round the sides, and reeded handles. They were made in Gateshead, England by Sowerby and the embossed Sowerby trademark, a peacock's head, can be seen in the bottom of both baskets.
