About this item
Pair of Victorian Green Glass “End of Day” Paperweights/Dumps
This attractive pair of green glass dumps are of floral design with 2 flowers in each. They would have been made from the spare glass at the end of a day’s work, and thus also called an "end of day glass". The glass worker was allowed to keep and sell the end of day glass items.
British, circa 1880
Condition: They are in overall good condition but with some slight scratches and each with dings which is highlighted in the photographs. They have raw pontils which shows the signs of many years use, typical of dumps made in the Victorian era.
