    About this item

A handsome, reclaimed, Arts and Crafts oak front door and frame, C.1920. The door is heavy and well made with 3 vertical recessed panels and the tops of the panels form a Gothic style arch. The door sits in an oak frame. The door and frame have mortise and tenon joints. The oak has been hand stripped, ready for you to apply a finish. We can advise you on a finish for the door if required. Please note that the door will require a drip bar to protect it from weather if it is to be used externally, without a porch protecting it. We can add a drip bar for an extra charge. The door has a space for a vertical letterplate. You can supply a letterplate to suit or we can supply and fit a letterplate for you for an extra charge. The letterplate space could also be converted into a small window if preferred. We can do this and glaze the window for an extra charge. We can hang the door the other way and patch repair the existing hinge slots, if required, for an extra charge. Please contact us if you would like any of the extra work offered carried out and we can discuss your requirements and provide a quote.

The door is in solid condition with some signs of age and wear, as expected of reclaimed items. The oak has some staining and discolouration. There are some knocks and chips to the door and frame, especially the edges. The top of the frame has some light damage. There are some holes, indentations and marks left from door furniture removal. The door still has the bottom lock but this has no key and will need to be replaced. Please see pictures for condition details. The door is of a good quality and has a handsome appearance, perfect for adding period character and charm to a home.
