A C17th solid oak Wainscott chair with organic carved crest and lozenge panel back, shaped scroll arms and a solid seat. The chair is set upon square and turned legs. Seat Height 45 cm
A Wainscot chair is a type of chair which was commonly made in the 17th and 18th centuries in Britain and America. Usually made of oak, the name derives from the fine grade of oak which was used at the time for wainscot panelling. This is a lovely example of it's kind.
