About this item
A classic c1830 late Regency gilt convex mirror with reeded ebony slip. Master painters would use a convex mirror when painting self portraits to convey meaning, perspective and skill. Centuries ago these mirrors were also considered a charm to ward off evil from the home. In recent centuries they have had a more aesthetic appeal, providing depth and light to any room.
Condition commensurate with age and use.
