About this item
A set of four 19th century, Shakespearian Series Tiles by Minton. Each tile is marked to the reverse “MINTONS CHINA WORKS STOKE ON TRENT” and they date from c.1880. We have King Lear Act 1 Scene 1, Romeo and Juliet Scene 2 Act 2, Hamlet Act 1 Scene 1, and Macbeth Act 3 Scene 4. Within the designs the prints are signed ‘IMS’ by the artist John Moyr Smith.
