About this item
A 19th century French copper, deep sauté pan with associated cover. The lid is marked “GRANDS MAGASINS DU LOUVRE PARIS” with an oval and it is also stamped with the number ’24’ which relates to the diameter. The pan is only stamped with a number 24 and it is made by a different company but the pan and lid are a perfect fit. The steel handles are different in form as each handle shape was specific to the manufacturer. They date from c.1880. They are well made, from a very heavy gauge of copper, and the pan has a slightly planished finish. There is a scratch across the lid but other than that both the pan and cover are in very good condition. The interior has been re-tinned so that it can be used.
