About this item
A large, early Victorian copper kettle with rounded shoulders. This is well made, from a heavy gauge of copper, and it has castellated seams. It dates from c.1840. It is interesting in that instead of one seam running up the back it has two, one by the handle and the other only 10cm. away from the first. The spout is riveted in rather than seamed. The kettle has a ball shaped, brass finial to the lid and brass fittings to the handle.
There is slight pitting to the copper and slight denting to the base of the spout. Other than this it is in good condition and it is still usable.
Dimensions: Height to shoulder of kettle 15cm. Height to top of handle 35.5cm. Diameter 24.5cm Width from tip of spout to outer edge of kettle 35cm.
