About this item
A long handled, French copper straining spoon. This is engraved with the initials “L.V.” above the number “129” and the initials would be those of the original owner. Usually initials are engraved on the front of the handle but these are on the reverse just above the bowl of the spoon. The spoon is made from a very heavy gauge of copper and it dates from c.1860. It has a turned end to the handle, so that it can hang when not in use, which resembles the end of a shepherd’s crook. There is pitting to the copper from use. This is in the bowl of the spoon and not on the handle. Otherwise the piece is in good condition.
Dimensions: Length 52cm. Width 7.2cm.
Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £30. Most of Western Europe add £15.
