About this item
An unusual, 19th century, French copper, pierced spoon. Implements of this type usually have tools to both ends but this example is unusual in that it has a simple, spoon handle. The bowl of the spoon is pierced so it would have been used for draining or skimming. The handle is stamped with the letters “R C” and these would be the initials of a previous owner. Originally the piece would have been covered in tin but this has now been removed, revealing the copper beneath. It dates from c.1850 and is in excellent condition.
Dimensions: Length 36.5cm. Width 6.3cm. Depth of spoon 2cm.
Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the US.A. add £20. Most of Western Europe add £10.
