    About this item

A nineteenth century copper spuddle with a turned wooden handle. Spuddles were used for stirring ice cream in a sorbetiere. This is a small example and originally the copper section would have been tinned all over but this has now been removed to reveal the copper beneath. The handle is turned from either a fruitwood or boxwood. It has a distinctive grain and a lovely patina. The spuddle dates from c.1860 and is in excellent condition.

Dimensions: Length 35.5cm. Width 8cm. Diameter of handle 3.5cm.

Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £20. Most of Western Europe add £10.
