About this item
A vintage, French copper watering can. This is marked “Jean-Paul Thevenot MEILLEUR OUVRIER DE FRANCE” and it dates from the later half of the 20th century, probably c.1970. This is a really attractive and decorative piece, and is an ideal size for household use. The copper has an interesting, textured finish and the brass fittings on the handle are slightly arts and crafts in appearance. There is a dent in the copper, around the spout, where the spout has been pushed back slightly and there is a soldered repair on the brass rose but it is still watertight.
