About this item
A superb 17thc Ash "Turners" chair...it is a very good colour with a deep natural patina....I found it residing outside in a greenhouse...with no windows....covered in mould and looking very sorry for itself, but so pleased the way it has come back to life with drying out and a gentle polish....and what a great surprise, when I found it had been branded underneath by the original turner....R. Beasley...not once but twice...!...it is in very good condition, with no restoration, apart from a small splice at the front of the seat, probably done in Victorian times (see picture for close up)....
English. C1670-90.
