About this item
An excellent example of an early 19thc Windsor armchair, known as a "high hoop back"...it is made from yew , elm and fruitwood and has gained a lovely colour with a fine patina....the crook shaped under-arm supports dates its age to pre C1840 and the style of hoop back with the wheel splat motif attributes this chair to Buckinghamshire.
