An image of two children (a girl and a younger boy) loading an ass with faggots for kindling a fire. Oval image, artist's name "Hamilton Pinxt." to the margin of the oval. Entitled beneath the image "The Wood Gatherers." and with the publication details "Dublin Publish'd by W. Allen 32 Dame Street".
A charming and very rare late 18th Century, George III, Irish stipple engraving issued by Dublin publisher William Allen after a work by Hugh Douglas Hamilton. Very few copies of this print have been indentified. No copy held by the British Museum or the National Library of Ireland.
