An impressive mid 19th century antique oak housekeeper's cupboard. The antique oak housekeepers cupboard has an inverted breakfront, with an acorn and oak leaf detailing to the top. The antique oak housekeeper's cupboard has a cupboard to the centre with two arched panelled cupboard doors, flanked by a pair of glazed cupboard doors over three drawers. The cupboard doors all open to reveal shelved interiors. To the base of the housekeeper's cupboard is a central cupboard that opens to reveal a neat storage space, flanked by banks of three graduated drawers to both sides, each with wooden knobs with mother of pearl roundels. The antique housekeeper's cupboard has a shaped apron and is raised on bracket feet. Comes apart in two sections for ease of transport. Makers mark, date and origin to the middle left hand side drawer. Made by Robert Watkin on August 14 1857 in Llangollen.

    CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks, scratches and stains to the interior shelves, further marks and scratches to the front (pictured). There are losses to the drawer knobs and the columns beading, also three acorn motifs are missing from the frieze (pictured). The glass has age-related foxing in places and air bubbles, however remains intact. There is evidence of historic woodworm, however this is now long gone and has been fully treated as a precaution. The antique oak housekeeper's cupboard remains structurally solid and sound, with the drawers running well. Comes apart in two sections for ease of transport. Overall, a fantastic mid 19th century housekeepers cupboard.
