These rare and an extremely remarkable pair of Oak Vestry Cupboards, magnificent in stature, made from English Oak, with a side cupboard which is discreetly hidden with storage comprising of 3 shelves, the upper part of the cupboards are formed with hand carved fleur de les finials, almost Cathedral like in style, the body of the cupboards are high gothic carved windows in style. C1880

A symbol of the Blessed Virgin Mary. A medieval emblem representing the lily as a symbol of purity.
These one of the most remarkable Gothic cupboards we have ever encountered, in terms of overall design, artistry of execution, condition of preservation. They a cornucopia of Gothic design, including features borrowed from architecture such as spires, columns and the tiered structures topped with the Fleur De Lis, these cupboards would make a wonderful statement piece in any period home or as display pieces.
