About this item
VERY EARLY CREAMWARE CHILDS MUG
A PLEDGE OF ESTEEM
Staffordshire England ~ c. 1820
This desirable mug from the Staffordshire region of England stands a mere 2 1/4 " tall x 2 1/8 " wide excluding the applied handle.
A wonderful creamware mug with a painted band along the rim. The transfer feature a naive scene of three young lads playing & frolicking. The inscription below reads A PLEDGE OF ESTEEM.
A rare find. Light weight and beautifully potted with no chips, cracks, or hairlines. You won't find a better example. Creamware mugs are hard to find especially with such a fabulous subject as this. A perfect gift for someone held in the highest regards.
