About this item
A Victorian bread knife with a carved, sycamore handle. The blade is stamped with the manufacturers mark “BIGGS 122 STRATFORD ESTABLISHED 1810” and it is also engraved with “Bread Knife”. It dates from c.1890. The handle is carved, with long leaves against a stipple background. There are three short hairline cracks in the wooden handle.
Dimensions: Length 31.5cm. Width of blade 3cm. Diameter of handle 2.8cm.
