    About this item

A good quality, Victorian bread knife with a carved ivory handle. The steel blade is marked “JOSEPH RODGERS & SONS CUTLER TO THE QUEEN” under a crown with “V R” to either side. The opposite side of the blade has a registered design Kite mark  and there is a silver collar around the handle which is hallmarked for Sheffield 1898. The ivory handle is well carved with a corn on the cob.

There are a couple of small splits in the ivory, by the collar, and there is very slight pitting to the steel, from use.

Dimensions: Length 30.2cm. Width 2.8cm. Diameter of handle 2.2cm.
