    About this item

A rare set of 6 Glasgow Hanoverian table spoons made around 1757 by George Milne and John Campbell. They started the partnership in 1757 and advertised themselves as producing silver items in the "most fashionable London taste". These spoons were made long before the Glasgow assay office was set up in 1819. The marks are "makers marks x 2, pseudo date letter S, town mark". The marks are very crisp on all 6 spoons and the general condition is excellent with no damage or repairs. The best condition early Glasgow spoons I have had.
