    About this item

    A Victorian bread knife with a carved wooden handle. The steel blade is marked “ WADE WINGFIELD & NEWSTEAK SHEFFIELD” and it dates from c.1880.  It is also engraved with the words “Bread Knife” in an ornate script and there is a crown above a winged figure. The handle is  carved, in sycamore, with the words “SPARE NOT” but the carving is now very well worn.

    Dimensions: Length 32.5cm. Width 3.2cm. Diameter of handle 2.5cm.
