A rare English pewter cocktail set by Gerald Benney for Viner, Circa 1960s, comprising a wonderfully tall Martini cocktail jug with six matching pewter tankards each with long cocktail stirring spoons. Each piece has polished deep rims and handles with hammered main body.
Gerald Benney was one of the most outstanding and influential British goldsmith and silversmiths of the second half of the 20th century. During a career spanning more than 50 years, he was the first British craftsman to hold four Royal Warrants simultaneously. His strong designs continue to be recognised as some of the finest of that era.
