Private collection, Oxfordshire
Hand-blown, globe shaped colourless glass flask, the neck wheel-engraved with foliage, with a hand-applied, annular, pincered ruffled-glass 'rigaree' neck-ring, a band of wheel-engraved wreath decoration beneath the lip. Single glass handle applied, with a scroll at its base. The base of the neck with a 'rigaree' pincered ruffled-glass collar from which extend eight, vertical trails of ruffled 'rigaree' ribs down the belly, the panels between these are decorated alternately with wheel-engraved butterflies on floral sprigs and sprays of flowers and foliage. A sharp pontil mark to the centre of the concave indented punt foot.
Probably 19th century, in the manner of 17th Century glass.

Excellent condition. Some use related whitening to the glass within the base of the flask. Appropriate age-related wear. No chips, cracks or significant scratches.
