About this item
A finely carved wooden page turner or paper knife with articulated handle, dating to approximately the mid 19th century. The handle is in the form of a bird with a sprung mechanism to the beak, which opens and closes by pressing under the chin. The bird has finely carved plumage and amber glass eyes. The wood has a golden aged patina. Possibly German or Swiss.
