About this item
Antique Articulated Wooden Hand. Carved from Beech wood, these hands were originally made for artists models or store glove displays. A few of the fingers and thumb can be positioned in multiple poses and are jointed at the knuckle and finger joints, the writs is also jointed. These hands would have been mounted on a stand for display purposes. C1920
Lay figures were used by artists and sculptors in the pursuit of the perfect form and also used for displaying clothing and gloves in well heeled department stores.
This hand is in good condition, please bare in mind that this is an antique and may have a few fixed or stiff joints that may not move as freely as others.
