About this item
Damien Hirst (b. 1965)
"Ho Ho Ho!", 1997
Screenprint on acetate, set within perspex
Hand-signed by the artist in white china-graph pencil
Edition of 1,700, unnumbered (as issued)
Published by Momart Ltd and Krylix London
7.5 cm x 6.5 cm x 3 cm (overall)
This small sculptural paperweight was commissioned from the artist Damien Hirst by the art handling company Momart as a Christmas gift to prominent art-world clients in 1997. The grid of dots recalls Hirst's celebrated coloured spot paintings but through the title and the use of monochrome white dots, the artist has suggested the falling of snow or a frozen minimalist snow dome.
