Georgian gilt Seal with Red Agate and TR initials intaglio 1820

This seal has a base carved with an intaglio and was designed to be used with hot wax for sealing letters.

I have made an impression of this seal using hot wax to show that the seal works as intended and also to give a clearer image of the intaglio.

The wax impression comes in a small plastic case and is included with the seal

This gilt metal seal has rectangular base set with a red agate stone and engraved with the initials TR in reverse.

The seal has an ornately carved base and handle topped with a suspension loop.

The seal measures 23mm x 17mm x 14mm and is in 80% mint condition – loss of gilding on the suspension loop and light wear elsewhere
