    About this item

    A fine pierced brass letter stand with integral inkwell, dating to the late 19th to early 20th century. It was made in Germany and is in the Jugendstil or Art Nouveau style. It has three hinged dividers to hold letters, the middle one with a sprung mechanism. Each divider is decorated with a pierced design. At the front is an inkwell with hinged lid decorated with incised decoration. The underside is impressed "DRGM 237670 Ges. Gesch" - this is a registered design mark applied during the German Reich.
