Victorian Gilt seal with Deer intaglio c1850

This seal was designed to be used with hot wax for sealing letters.

I have made an impression of this seal using hot wax to show that the seal works as intended and also to give a clearer image of the intaglio.

The wax impression comes in a small plastic case and is included with the seal.

This is a gilt metal seal set with a red painted base covered with glass. The glass has been engraved with an intaglio of a seal

The seal has a domed base with a strut handle topped with a suspension loop

The seal measures 30mm x 19mm x 16mm

The seal is in 80% mint condition – a dull metal finish
