A Fine 19th Century Irish Design Desk Chair or Armchair

A Fine 19th Century Irish design mahogany desk chair or armchair, of fabulous quality, stunningly hand carved with rich patination and grain.  The serpentine crest rail with a beautiful carved centred composition of trailing acanthus, c-scrolls and bell bell husk motifs flanked by further trailing acanthus and bell husk detail.  Raised above vasiform back splat with further trailing acanthus leaf motif, flanked with out scrolled arms terminating on down swept supports.  The bow front, shaped padded seat is upholstered in gorgeous deep burgundy leather with studded brass border above moulded apron, supported on elegant, tapering cabriole leg with shell motif detail on knee, terminating on pad foot.
