    About this item

An original 1950’s dining chair, traditionally restored and reupholstered in a Jean-Paul Gaultier Fabric.

Understated yet refined, the chair has been expertly restored by our skilled craftspeople. Hours of work were spent in its restoration. It has a new regulation-compliant foam seat covered with FR cotton calico and final fabric.

Re-covered in two remarkable fabrics, by Jean-Paul Gaultier, the chair would make a daring and unique statement-piece in any home. The seat-back fabric intertwines Gaultier’s signature rose and carp designs, and the seat is finished in a black and white ‘mesh’ pattern.

Jean-Paul Gaultier, known as the ‘enfant terrible’ of the fashion world, is renowned for his avant-garde and progressive designs. His collaboration with Lelievre successfully unites haute couture with interior design.

Now in its fourth generation, Lelievre is a design studio and creator of fine fabrics that was established in 1914 at 36 rue des Petits Champs, Paris.

In the 1980s, Lelievre exclusively distributed Alcantara; this is used today as a luxury lining in a selection of bags designed by Louis Vuitton, Paris.

In 1997, Lelievre acquired the iconic French company of Tassinari et Chatel.
