About this item
19th Century French mahogany and brass inlaid directoire writing desk, the brass moulded edge top having a green leather writing surface decorated with blind and gold tooling, pull out slides either side incorporating the same style as the top, the front of the desk consisting of four oak lined drawers with original brass escutcheons and brass moulding, fluted columns either side, having brass moulded panels to the sides and reverse of the desk, supported on turned tapering legs with brass decoration. Circa 1880.
