This is an antique ladies writing desk. An English, mahogany and leather correspondence table, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850.
Pleasingly petite desk with a delightful appearance Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order Select stocks present fine grain interest and rich caramel hues Wide leather skiver inset to the top, with Greek key tooling and embossed outer edge Arrangement of drawers to the fascia, the left bank disguising a cabinet door Dressed with appealing foliate circular pulls in warm brass tones Kneehole accentuated with shaped brackets, with carved swirl accents The kneehole set at a comfortable height of 59.5cm (23.5'') Raised upon a slender quartet of turned legs, with collared finishThis is an appealing antique ladies writing desk, with superb colour and of useful size for several rooms in the home.
