About this item
Very well proportioned French Empire style freestanding partners desk with its original matching desk chair, circa 1880.
The desk is stands very well for a large piece, the tapering legs and brass mounts giving it a lighter feel than a typical pedestal desk. Also being a freestanding desk, the reverse is finished the same as the front…the rear having “faux” drawers, all with brass mounts etc.
The matching chair is very complimentary to the desk, being a great height for comfortable use without leg height issues.
Certainly a desk that one would be happy to sit at in a working home office environment and its a wonderful set to look at too!
