About this item
A set of eight late 19th century Chippendale style mahogany dining chairs comprising of two armchairs and six single chairs - ADDITIONAL IMAGES CAN BE VIEWED BELOW:
The chairs consist of a shaped and carved top rail with carving to the ears with carved decoration to the centre with moulded uprights and a pierced and carved central splat, the armchairs having shaped and moulded arms.
This leads down to the upholstered seats, these being in a neutral fabric and in good condition with just a few marks (the seats could easily be re-upholstered in a fabric of choice once purchased).
The chairs having square moulded legs to the front with shaped corner brackets to the top with an H stretcher and splay legs to the back.
An image of the original design of these chairs can be found in the book 'English Furniture of the 18th Century' by Herbert Cescinsky Volume II Page 236 Figures 247 & 248.
