For sale is a Pair Of Antique 1920s Advertising Pedlar Doll Selling Buttons, Garments, Rags Etc. 

These dolls are in excellent condition and are advertising a huge range of items including buttons, sewing supplies, handkerchiefs, labels, rags, garments, pin cushions etc. 

These pedlar dolls measure 40cm in height x 38cm length x 20cm width. 

Pedlars, both male and female, were a common sight in the 18th and early 19th centuries as they travelled the countryside selling small household goods, knick-knacks and song sheets to people who could not easily get to towns and shops.

Female pedlar dolls were dressed in the clothes typical of country women - a printed cotton dress, a woollen cape and a black hood or bonnet over a white cap. These dolls were more of a curiosity than a toy, and were usually on display under a glass dome. Unfortunately these are missing there glass domes.
