    About this item

This is a Tudor partial-gilt dress-hook, dating to the 16th century. This example is missing the loop and hook for securing although retains traces on the back. The face is decorated with petals and mercurial gold-gilded stud. It was originally acquired in the UK art market in the 1990s.
