About this item
Very unusual and beautifully made 19th century French mahogany and brass mounted dressing table with a fabulous grey veined marble top and this wonderful brass framed oval mirror with sconces, circa 1880.
Very decorative piece but also a sensible size for daily use with a good kneehole height below the two birds eye maple drawers.
The original marble top is a great contrast to the rich mahogany and brass.
The bevelled oval mirror is the original and has just the right amount of fading or foxing, which give it this mellow feel.
The two twin sconces either side of the mirror are not currently wired, but if you would like them to be, this is no problem and can be arranged for you. Or you might just like to use them with decorative candles, or leave them empty!
They can also be removed if you would rather not have them and I can have the fitting hole capped off.
Great piece of antique French furniture, style wise you could say Napoleon III or Neo Classical.
The whole mirror section can be removed from the base for transport and delivery.
