About this item
A collection of five wooden stump dolls, hand made in Lancashire by Robin & Nell Dale in the 1980s. The couple made a large variety of different dolls. They were all hand painted and designs were only made in small batches, and each doll is slightly different. The dolls in this collection are Admiral Mainbrace, a Middlesex Cricketer, a Lawyer, Cecil Cleaver the Butcher, and the Ripon Hornblower. They are all jointed at the shoulders. They are all signed and have their model name on their bases. A couple also bear the year they were made - 1986 and 1985. These are beautiful little decorative pieces.
The measurements given are for Admiral Mainbrace.
