About this item
A beautiful Canadian Inuit carving by Felix Kopak (1918-2005), a first generation indigenous artist from Repulse Bay (now Naujaat) on the shores of Hudson Bay. It is in the form of a seal and is carved out of a dark grey-green stone which has been beautifully polished. It is simply and economically carved but has great character. The seal has a very appealing face. The underside is signed by Kopak and dated 1980. It is in great condition with minor wear.
