This is an antique master cabinet maker's chest. An English, heavy tool trunk with mahogany and walnut interior, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850.
Wonderful master craftsman's tool chest with an exquisite fitted interior Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout Dark painted pine exterior a perfect foil to the striking caramel hues within Fascia dressed with a diamond-shaped inlaid lock — key absent Opening the lid reveals a superb interior, with removable banks of drawers Inlaid flame mahogany, walnut and oak in contrasting hues creates an appealing decorative finish Fifteen drawers across two banks, each accentuated with small ebonised pulls in cupped recesses Lower section hosts a lidded container with small leather pull tabThis is a delightful antique master cabinet maker's chest, with an exceptional fitted interior to delight guests as a distinctive coffee table, or ideal for the specimen collector thanks to the suite of small drawers.
